Feeling Good Mini Series

Our Feeling Good Mini Series was such a good idea. I knew it would be but it’s one of those ideas that turned out to be even better than you thought, and I’m glad I got to share it with everyone who came through.

It was my intention to open my restorative practices to the community in hopes that they might also find reprieve from life’s weight. I invited everyone to one of my treasured spaces in the city, Hudson Yards to enjoy the summer evening air and I’m glad that the folks who came learned about an easily accessible lovely green space they had not experienced before.

To create balance for myself, I often turn to play to break up the tension when life demands serious focus. I wanted to share that by inviting others to come play games with me. Playing Hues & Cues, Taboo, Word Waterfall, and Apples to Apples brought us all to a joyful care-free space that allowed us to truly be present and fully enjoy the moment.

Varying our fitness class formats for the mini-series also allowed the community to see all the formats I offer and decide for themselves which spoke most to them. On my end, I admittedly was testing the waters to see which strength training format would be most amenable to the majority. And it turns out, Barr-umba took the cake! The term Barr-umba was coined by one of my VIPs years ago as she used to do my Sunday Barre and Zumba classes back to back. The combination of wild free energy release meeting controlled & intentional body relief creates a space in the body where physical tension and mental stress once took hold. I’m glad this one was a favorite and I’m excited to see how the community grows once it’s on the roster more consistently.

Between sharing the iced Cherry Hibiscus tea from Spices & Tease each week, to moving the body in new and different ways, and experiencing the calm catharsis that comes from connecting with other souls in nature, it was unanimously agreed that we should do this again sometime. We certainly will.
